There is no state program to cover such costs. Therefore, the ‘DOCTORS FOR HEROES’ initiative covers implant production costs for each of our patients. For this purpose, we accumulate contributions from donors, organize case support during treatment, and monitor the targeted use of funds.
The cost of implants ranges from UAH 7,000 to UAH 225,000 and is calculated individually for each patient depending on the implant size, materials, etc. Currently, our foundation spends around UAH 700,000 to UAH 800,000 per month to provide patients with medical products.
The project will continue until the approval, at the state level, of the Program of State Guarantees and the budgeting of costs for modeling and manufacturing individualized medical devices for all affected citizens of Ukraine.Our Team
About the Foundation
The “DOCTORS FOR HEROES” Project provides assistance to people with severe head and facial injuries — including civilians affected by the full-scale war.
We supply patients with individually designed implants that precisely reconstruct the missing parts of the skull and face. While the government covers the cost of surgical treatment, it does not finance the production of these highly complex medical devices. That is why the charitable foundation “DOCTORS FOR HEROES” raises and allocates donations to ensure the production of implants for each patient in the program.
The initiative’s co-founder is IMATEH MEDICAL, a Ukrainian team of experts in medical 3D printing and computer modeling. Thanks to their expertise and technology, we are able to create accurate, patient-specific solutions to restore skulls and faces after complex injuries.
In addition to funding implant production, the foundation also provides case support throughout the patient’s treatment and ensures that all funds are used transparently and for their intended purpose.
By making a donation to support the project, the donor agrees that the contribution is non-refundable. If a donor makes a contribution for a specific patient, they also consent to the possible redistribution of the funds to another patient and/or their use for broader project needs (in cases where the original fundraising goal has been met or is no longer relevant). In the event of surplus funds upon project completion, the remaining amount will be allocated in accordance with applicable law and/or used for initiatives aimed at restoring the health of Ukrainians injured in the war.

Restoration of facial and cranial bones requires creating patient-specific implants. This is an extremely complex task requiring coordinated teamwork from experts in maxillofacial surgery, bioengineering, medical 3D printing and modeling, as well as titanium 3D printing.
