reconstructive
facial surgery

We cooperate with leading CMF surgeons, bioengineers and manufacturers of titanium and PEEK implants.

Explosive injuries to the face and head are among the most challenging from both medical and psychological perspectives. Currently, reconstructive surgery for the face and head is not officially covered by the Ukrainian state. Moreover, it requires highly individualized solutions, such as 3D printing of titanium implants for the damaged skull, jaw, and facial bones.

How our patients receive care

As of today, nowhere in the world is there such experience and technology in reconstructing facial, jaw, and head bones as in Ukraine since 2022.
Leading experts from around the world and Ukrainian specialists constantly exchange knowledge and enhance their skills by implementing innovative methodologies.

Support foundation

Diagnostics and planning

A patient is injured and ends up in the hospital. Based on the CT scan results, a surgeon diagnoses the patient’s need for a 3D implant.

3D modelling and printing a future implant in plastic

A bioengineer processes the CT image, segments it (highlights healthy bone, bone fragments, missing segments, etc.)

Prototyping and testing

As well as the patient’s skull for testing attachment methods.

Computer simulation of surgery

Requires constant collaboration between the surgeon and a bioengineer.

Production of the implant

Printing of the final titanium implant and delivering it to the operating room.

Surgery and rehabilitation

Preoperative preparation, surgery and rehabilitation.

How can you help?

On the bank of a particular patient

(100% of your contribution will go to the implant of the selected patient)

To the Doctors for Heroes Foundation

(100% of your contribution will go to the most critical patient)

The Doctors for Heroes Found uses donor money to:

pay for the production of anatomical models and implants made of Titanium or PEEK depending on individual medical indications;

pay for materials, screws, etc.;

pay for the work of a bioengineer;

pay for prosthetic eyes, noses, and ears.

Your money won’t be used for:

organisational needs of the foundation;

payment for the surgeon’s work;

expenses not related to medical support

administrative and other organisational expenses, these costs are covered by grants or institutional donors.

We provide full reporting on the funds used. You can always see the full report on our website or in a private thank you letter.

Opportunity to talk in person to the patient you’ve helped

Subject to mutual consent, the benefactor and our Patient can meet after a successful surgery and rehabilitation.
