Maksym Hudopaiev, 1983.
On July 27, 2024, while performing a combat mission near Klishchiivka in the Bakhmut district, Maksym sustained a mine-explosive injury resulting in:
- Severe shrapnel tangential penetrating open craniocerebral wound with an entrance hole in the left frontal area;
- Craniocerebral and craniofacial trauma;
- Grade 2 cerebral contusion;
- Hemorrhagic contusions of both frontal and right temporal lobes;
- Subarachnoid hemorrhage;
- Multifragmentary fracture of the frontal bone and both frontal sinuses;
- Shrapnel blind wound of the face and right orbit including traumatic laceration of the lower and upper eyelid of the right eye, crushing of the right eyeball, and anophthalmos;
- Shrapnel blind wound of the jaw on the right;
- Hemosinus;
- Pneumocephalus;
- Multiple gunshot shrapnel blind injuries of the left hand with open gunshot fractures of the IV and V metacarpal bones;
- Open fractures of the IV and V toes of the left foot.
From the first days of the full-scale invasion, Maksym begged the local recruitment center to let him join the army, but for some reason, they didn’t take him. Therefore, he decided to help the military in the rear. In his native Pavlograd, he worked as a car mechanic at a service station, repairing military vehicles and necessary equipment at his own expense. He devoted all his time to this work.
In May 2023, Maksym was finally drafted into the army, which made him very happy. In the anti-tank unit, he held positions in the Bakhmut direction alongside his comrades.
In Pavlograd, his wife stays with his mother. As Maksym says, if the enemy invades his hometown, he is ready to defend his home even now.
Maxim successfully underwent a surgery on 29.10.24. He is recovering.
