Dmytro Gorlov, 1993.
On October 27, 2024, during a combat mission in the Kursk region, he sustained a mine-explosive injury as a result of enemy artillery fire. The injuries included a fracture of the bottom of the eye socket, a fracture of the orbit, and fractures of the cheekbones and upper jaw.
Dmytro was born in Kamianets-Podilskyi, but as an adult, he moved to the village of Zhvanets, where he says he enjoys rural life. He has worked as a porter, baker, and monument builder. In 2018, he began serving in the Armed Forces under a contract as a sapper in the engineering troops.
After the full-scale invasion, he defended the Motherland in hot areas such as Bakhmut and Chasiv Yar. Dmytro is married and has two daughters and a son. At the beginning of the war, he persuaded his family to go abroad for their safety. He dreams of only one thing: to finally be together again.
He is a cheerful, kind, and very grateful warrior.
